Netvibes continues to grow and user signups have increased 25% on a weekly basis since two weeks ago. This means more of our dashboard apps are being used than ever before.

That’s why we’ve made major improvements to the Netvibes Ecosystem to help deliver apps faster, cleaner and to even more users on more platforms. Now you can even install your favorite Netvibes apps on Chrome and Blogger!

Faster: We’ve got a lot of feedback on improving Netvibes’ speed and responsiveness, and we’ve listened! Eco now runs roughly four times faster than before. This is important so we can serve more users instantly, especially on mobile devices.

Cleaner: We want to make sure that the best apps remain. From now on, buggy or unused ones will be progressively removed to ensure the best app experience.

More New Platforms: Most importantly, with our 3 new compilers, you can now use Netvibes on a wider range of platforms:

Business developers can also now deploy UWA apps with a native-like UI on iPhone, iPad and other mobile platforms (Android, BlackBerry OS 5 & 6, HP WebOS 2 & 3).

Other improvements:

  • New “Tools” page – 3rd party extensions and other goodies!
  • New Multifeed wizard – Instantly make your own multi-feed app!
  • New thumbnails system for Apps/Dashboards/Themes
  • Improved IE support
  • Improved Theme editor with previews
  • Other bug fixes and security improvements

Check out the new Netvibes Ecosystem 3 at: eco.netvibes.com

As you can tell, Netvibes is still growing and we’re still working on improving our Dashboards, for both our Basic and Premium users. The first step is to ensure the long-term growth of quality apps for our dashboards with a faster, cleaner Ecosystem that runs on even more platforms.

We will continue to build out our Ecosystem and UWA technologies to help developers “code once, deploy everywhere”. Our motto is still to help people “dashboard everything” – everywhere on every platform.

So stay tuned for new apps built using for our new Ecosystem and UWA 2!

Today is one of the proudest moments in Netvibes history:

We are now part of Dassault Systèmes.

This is huge for Netvibes and great news for our users. The product, brand and team stays the same, but our ability to innovate will be greatly enhanced. So, why did we choose Dassault Systèmes and where is Netvibes headed?

Our vision has always been to bring dashboard personalization to the entire world. We’ve come a long way since our start as a personal startpage in 2005. Today, millions of people around the world use Netvibes Basic to dashboard everything that matters and manage their daily digital lives. Thanks to our users, Netvibes won more awards than any other dashboard solution and continues to grow as the best reader and monitoring tool in the world. Not surprisingly, companies were quick to see the potential of using dashboards for business, too.

Today, Netvibes Premium and Netvibes for Enterprise deliver dashboard intelligence for Fortune 500 brands, agencies, governments and enterprises, including Coca Cola, L’Oreal, Digitas, McCann Worldgroup, Sage and the US Dept. of Energy. We currently serve more than half a billion Web apps per month and our ecosystem is now the biggest, with more than 250,000+ universal Web apps.

So what’s next?

We believe that the future of business is dashboard intelligence, which will help companies understand everything that’s going on across the real-time Web and inside and outside their organization. This ultimately will create a better world in which brands react instantly to changing consumer needs and a better work environment with personalized work dashboards tailored for each employee. This future puts Netvibes in a unique position in the enterprise market. It also means we are competing against large, multi-national corporations and enterprise vendors.

To continue to grow and to achieve our ambitious vision, we needed an ambitious partner. Our revenue is strong and we were never for sale, but we found an exceptional partner: Dassault Systèmes. They are the leader in 3D and PLM, with about 10,000 employees and 135,000 customers in the whole industry–they have global resources. Virtually every products in the world is designed using their software, including the Boeing 777–they have deep technology and modeling experience.

As Bernard Charlès says “Netvibes is a perfect fit with our 3D Experience platform. It will connect and combine products, usages, internal and external data sources, user intelligence and social tagging. All in real-time and in context for a better, richer experience and decision-making process.”

They believe in the future of bringing dashboard intelligence to all companies–they share our vision. This means if you like Netvibes, you’ll love the new Netvibes. Our product and team will stay the same, but you can expect new features, faster than ever. (In fact, you will see some great ones over the next few weeks!) Both users and clients can expect a long-term future growth and stability, backed by one of the largest public companies in France.

We are committed to this future. And we are committed to you. We are 100% committed to providing you with best dashboards in the world. Period. Without compromises.

Consumer social monitoring tools let you track a few Twitter accounts. But what if you need to analyze an entire country in real-time?

Netvibes was invited by the Department of State on a panel that will discuss the answers to this question at the Tech@State conference on Feb. 3-4 in Washington, DC. We hope to see some of you there!

To demonstrate how Netvibes helps government agencies visualize real-time information, we created Syria Live. Check it out for live analysis of what’s going on in Syria right now!

Also, we created a Tech@State 2012 conference dashboard where you can see everything that’s being said at the conference, plus speaker sessions, conference info, videos and more.

It’s been two months since we launched Netvibes Premium, our powerful analytics solution for brand managers and social media professionals, and we’re constantly listening to our users remarks and suggestions to make it an even better product.

This week we’ll launch new features and improvements for both our Premium and Basic dashboards.

Social Pack Improvements (for Premium)

We listened to your feedbacks and improved our charts to make them more readable in all situations, even with large scales and extended period of analysis. We also added a color picker which allows you to choose between five different colors for every social pack widget and add clarity to your dashboard.

Highlights on charts have also been improved: relevant legend is now highlighted when you move your mouse over a particular section of a chart. And vice versa.

On widgets with sources or authors, you can now go directly to the domain by simply clicking on the favicon on the left. You can also switch to a new view that lists all unique sources, with no limitation.

Facebook Improvements (for Basic & Premium)

But we also thought about our Basic users and upgraded our Facebook widget. The widget will now allow you to drag & follow any user name or page in your timeline to start following it in a new widget. Easy!

Another thing you can now do with the Facebook widget is collapse or expand it. To gain space on your Dashboard, you can choose to only show its description and expand it back to the full widget when you need to have access to the whole timeline. Perfect for users who need to monitor a lot of Facebook timelines.

Finally we’re happy to introduce our brand new Facebook Search widget. Easily parse through your Facebook content, unveil mentions and monitor brands or topics. Add it on your dashboard and try it right away!

As you can see, there are new things for everyone, both our Basic and Premium users. And if you want to discover our Premium solution with analytics features and see how it works, why not sign up for a free trial upgrade to Netvibes Premium today and try it out?

Netvibes Insights: Kraft Foods

Every month with Netvibes Insights we take a look at what’s really on with today’s top brands: a free live breakdown analysis to showcase our Netvibes Premium powerful analytics tools.

This month, we’ll put Kraft Foods, the American confectionery, food and beverage conglomerate, under the microscope.

A Social Snack Stragegy

Analysts call Kraft one of 2012′s worst stock picks. Yet their brand sentiment is at an all time high. Discover why. Also learn:

  • How Kraft and Nestle utilized different PR styles for highly positive company perceptions ;
  • Why “Illinois” is a top trending keyword for Kraft with nearly 100% positive sentiment ;
  • How Kraft’s user generated content contributes to its overall brand equity and visual identity.

Find out how, despite negative forecasting by business analysts and financial reports, Kraft has been able to avoid most of it by not going the traditional corporate press release route. Instead the company concentrates a lot on social media, and uses that to bolster its online brand equity and reputation.

We’ll look into that and more during our next Netvibes Insights webinar. It will take place on January 19, at 10am PST / 1pm EST.

Like last year we’ll be covering the annual CES (Consumer Electronics Show) through one of our now famous Live Dashboards. The CES is one of the biggest gathering about technology and this year, it will take place between the 10th and 13th of January in Las Vegas.

To make sure you won’t miss a thing, Netvibes is setting up a new Live Dashboard dedicated to the event:

  • news watch through the main information sites
  • events schedule
  • videos (live, media coverage, etc.)
  • mentions on various social networks
  • exhibitors panel
  • and many other tools…

And like with every Live Dashboard, we will give you access to the advanced tools only available with our Premium Dashboards: SmartTagging (to tag feelings to articles), Advanced Research in Real-Time (to cross-search different sources inside the Dashboard) and Bookmarklet (to easily add content from other sites).

This is also your chance to get a sneak peak at our powerful analytics tools through a special tab that will monitor the Who, the What, the How and the When during the event.

If you want to follow the 2012 CES without flying to Las Vegas, the best way to do it is to log on to ces2012.netvibesbusiness.com and enjoy every minute of this big event from your armchair, in your office or on your mobile phone.

Enjoy!

Holiday Analytics From Netvibes!

This holiday season, we wanted to thank all of our users around the world for making Netvibes and Netvibes Premium such a wonderful success. What better way than by celebrating with a cool new Essential App: Google Analytics for Netvibes!

It’s a great way to track your blog or site traffic and visitor metrics – right from your Netvibes dashboard. You can even modify date ranges to customize your reports.

As we’ve said before, we believe that dashboards should be free. Free from ads, free for all, free forever. We also believe in the freedom of data and that metrics should be free as well. That’s why we’ll continue to develop apps for metric-reporting services like Google Analytics, so you can view your metrics on your dashboard — whether you are a Basic or Premium user.

We also appreciate that many of our professional users want to go beyond metrics and use our dashboards to uncover real meaning. That’s why we developed Netvibes Premium, which give you deep insights into interrelated trends and brand sentiment. We spend a lot of time and massive computing power to create this meaning from metrics, which is why it is a premium product.

(If you want to check it out, you can get a free trial of Netvibes Premium and talk with us One-to-One here.)

However, for those that just want to monitor their own metrics, we’ll continue to develop free apps to help you do so, like our Google Analytics app, because we believe metrics should be free and available to everyone. )

If you have any other suggestions, please let us know!

Again, thank you all for a wonderful year and we look forward to developing even more cool features for you in 2012!

LeWeb 11 Deconstructed

No doubt that by now, you know all about our Live Dashboards, a practical use of our Netvibes Premium Dashboards to cover an event and gather all relevant information in one single place. We did it again last week for LeWeb 11 and now it’s time to look behind the curtain and see what we can learn from the analytics we collected.

The reason we decided to build Netvibes Premium, even though there are many good social analytics solutions on the market, is because we wanted a solution that could deliver real meaningful insights, not just metrics.

There was a lot of reports after the conference, filled with various metrics about LeWeb 11, including mention counts and keyword analysis. But at the end of the day, does it really matter how many times LeWeb was mentioned on Twitter?

What does that tell us? Not much.

So we decided to share some of our insights and dig depeer in the analytics.

Wanna give Netvibes Premium a try? Sign up for a free 14-day trial and a One-to-One personal training session.
