A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated our 6th birthday. Today, we’re celebrating the birth of Netvibes Premium – our new product for professionals!
Over the years, we’ve had many users ask us for professional “intelligence” features – including analytics, alerts and team collaboration. Netvibes Premium is an instant add-on for individual professionals who need intelligence features for business use.
Both Netvibes and Netvibes Premium users enjoy the same dashboard features – but Premium adds a layer of intelligence features to their dashboard. In other words:
Netvibes = free dashboards
Netvibes Premium = free dashboards + paid intelligence features

What does this mean for free users? Will you limit our free dashboards?
Netvibes is and will continue to be 100% free. From the very beginning in 2005, we have never served a single display ad or coerced a single user to upgrade for more space. In a sense, we were freemium, before freemium was called freemium.
Unlike other freemium models, we are not going impose any limitations on our free product and no dashboard features will be restricted. Our paid product simply adds an optional, new layer of “intelligence” features on top of our free dashboard features for professionals who need it.
Are you going to stop developing your free dashboard product?
Of course not! We are fully committed to building the world’s best dashboard platform and will continue to evolve our dashboard product for all users. Netvibes Premium gives professional users the features they need for their brand or business, while also ensuring the long term development of our free dashboard product, since the same dashboard platform is shared by both premium and free users.
What is this new green button?
You may have noticed that there is a new, green Analyze button at the top of your page. There are many users who have hundreds of feeds to process or who want to see detailed analytics about their brand reputation, sentiment, etc. – hence the new intelligence features in Netvibes Premium. The new Analyze button lets premium users access these new features, while allowing free users to demo and learn more about these new features. As an existing user, since you’ve already selected all your relevant sources of information, Netvibes Premium can be of immediate benefit to you. Just click the Analyze button to learn more.
We do not put any ads (or even logos!) on our dashboards and we believe this is a simple and unobtrusive way for our users to learn more about our analytics features. We will continue to give users unlimited dashboards, unlimited feeds and apps, and unlimited usage for free – while offering optional intelligence features for those who need it.

I noticed the homepage changed. How do I create a new dashboard?
We updated our homepage since we now have different products for both personal and professional use. It’s still easy to create instant dashboards for free:
1. From your personal dashboard, go to the Dashboard menu and select “Create new dashboard”. This will bring up the 1-click dashboard wizard.

2. Or, from our new homepage, click Get Started, then click “Try it now” on the left. This will also bring you to the 1-click dashboard wizard.

Enkele weken geleden werd bekend dat Josh Brolin de hoofdrol gaat spelen in de Oldboy remake van regisseur Spike Lee. De website Twitch komt met het gerucht dat actrice Rooney Mara in gesprek is om de vrouwelijke hoofdrol te gaan spelen. Dit hoofdpersonage krijgt in de nieuwe Oldboy de naam Marie.
Mara is een groeiende naam in Hollywood. Ze had al rollen in de films The Social Network en A Nightmare on Elm Street en is binnenkort te zien in David Finchers The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Uiteraard is het nog maar een gerucht, maar de website Twitch kwam ook als eerste met het gerucht dat Brolin de hoofdrol gaat spelen. Twitch wil zijn bron echter niet vrijgeven. Een ander gerucht verscheen verleden maand. Variety meldde toen dat niemand minder dan Christian Bale hoog op het lijstje zou staan om de slechterik te spelen.

Marvel Studios verschaft ons een nieuwe blik op Joss Whedons The Avengers op de cover van de nieuwste issue van Entertainment Weekly. Hieronder zie je Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Captain America (Chris Evans) en Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) op een rij.
Tegenover het magazine zei Renner het volgende: “Just because they’re super heroes doesn’t mean they’re super friends.” Regisseur Whedon hoopte op een beetje frictie tussen de castleden, vooral omdat de personages het ook niet altijd met elkander kunnen vinden: “I was like, well, if they hate each other, I guess we can use that. But they don’t.”
Vanaf 3 mei 2012 is The Avengers in de Nederlandse bioscopen te zien.
Warner Bros. heeft regisseur Steven Spielberg op de korrel voor hun grootschalige film over het leven van Mozes. De film gaat onder de naam Gods and Kings en Spielberg zou het scenario van Michael Green en Stuart Hazeldine inmiddels al gelezen hebben.
De film vertelt het levensverhaal van Mozes en bevat dan ook alle epische, voorspelbare gebeurtenissen, zoals de confrontatie tussen de Hebreeuwse slaven met Egypte, de vlucht uit Egypte, de Brandende Struik en de tocht over de Rode Zee. Er werd in het scenario een originele draai gegeven aan de verhalen uit het Oude Testament.
Het is onbekend of het hier gaat om dezelfde Mozes-film als degene waarvoor Darren Aronofsky een tijdje terug in beeld was. Destijds waren er nog geen schrijvers bekend en het project had toen ook nog geen titel. Ook zou die film zich meer richten op het boek Exodus. Het is echter alsnog goed mogelijk dat het hier om dezelfde film gaat, of dat het eerdere project hierin is uitgegroeid.
