Fox 2000 heeft twee andere studio’s afgetroefd in de strijd om de rechten van Incarceron van de Britse schrijfster Catherine Fisher. Het boek, dat in 2007 uitkwam in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, bereikte een paar weken terug de VS en staat ondertussen al op de New York Times Bestsellers List. Het vervolg, Sapphique, kwam in Engeland uit in 2008 en verschijnt in 2011 in Amerika. Fox hoopt het fantasieverhaal om te toveren tot een succesvolle franchise a la Harry Potter. Er zijn nog geen schrijvers of regisseurs verbonden aan het project, maar Fox is wel al druk op zoek.
Het boek vertelt het verhaal van een 17 jaar oude jongen, genaamd Finn, een afstammeling van de originele gevangenen. Hij probeert te ontsnappen uit de enorme futuristische gevangenis-wereld Incarceron. In de buitenwereld zit Claudia, dochter van de bewaarder van Incarceron, gevangen in haar eigen soort gevangenis: een futuristische wereld, ontworpen op een manier dat het lijkt alsof het de 17e eeuw is, maar waar alles wordt bestuurd met computers.

Incarceron is a prison so vast that it contains not only cells, but also metal forests, dilapidated cities, and vast wilderness. Finn, a seventeen-year-old prisoner, has no memory of his childhood and is sure that he came from Outside Incarceron.
